 Even if you don't have these pesky weeds in your yard, you may encounter them when you walk and it can hitchhike on the bottom of your shoe. 

Pets typically will violently lick, shake, scratch, sneeze to attempt to get it off but this worsens the situation! 

Get to a vet immediately if there is a foxtail stuck on or in any body part! 

This 1 patient encountered some foxtails on a walk and had to be sedated for removal from the ear canal, 3 was found in 1 ear!!!
